  Walking distance to the Wailea Mall, and a long walk to the beach. There are several beautiful pools, but bring floaties for kids who can't swim as there isn't a kiddie pool or shallow end. Beautiful grounds, gorgeously maintained. Keep an eye out for lizards on the path!

  We are visiting and went into snorkel bobs for some info and to see how much gear was to rent. Very reasonable! Great deals! And the service was amazing!!! The gal with the dark hair working the shop was so helpful and informative! They also had a very friendly dog to greet which is awesome!

• Review of "Maui Dive Shop" at Kihei

  Maui Dive shop had a 5 star review until today when they canceled my dive for tomorrow. I would have appreciated a heads up yesterday when I dove with them, if they didn't think they would have enough divers. No help finding an alternative dive company. This was my only other day to dive while in Maui. I booked this dive weeks ago for their planning. I wish they would have appreciated my schedule for my planning.

• Review of "Maui Snorkel Tours" at Kihei

  My wife and I are non-swimmers. But we are comfortable doing easy water sports with life jackets. This was our first snorkeling experience. This was an amazing experience for us. This gently pushed our boundaries and we will definitely try snorkeling whenever possible in the future. We took private tour. Our guide Ed was very patient and explained us how to use the gear and how to snorkel. He also explained the types of fishes using a book before going in. That helped us to understand what we are seeing while we are snorkeling. Note that they don't use a boat, they just take you to 200 ft from the shore by swimming. Boogie board really helped. Ed took us to a location where the sea is calmer and waited until the wind calmed down further. We felt completely safe and comfortable all the time, even with 50 feet depth. We saw dozens of types of fishes, coral reef and several turtles as close as three feet from us. It was so much fun even after 1.5 hours of snorkeling. He also provided two layers of wet suit to keep us warm. That really helped. We highly recommend going with them, especially for non-swimmers and novice snorkelers. If you are a non-swimmer, take a private tour to keep the full attention on you. That's totally worth it. One thing they can improve is the length of the tour. During booking, they mentioned as 7.30 to 11.30, but they brought us back to the shore by 10.10 even though we spent the first one hour driving, wearing the gear and learning from the books. Essentially it was only 1.5 hours of snorkeling. They could split it into two one-hour sessions with a break in between. Considering 1.5 hours, the price seems expensive. Overall, very pleasant and interesting experience.
